Tactical Threat Recognition 24-hr Basic Plus Course This 3-day basic plus course, much like the 2-day basic course, is the keystone to the HTMBPR program. This 24-hr course includes an additional day of photo/video practical application and cognitively real scenario-based training.

About the Event

This is an approved I-70 West Training Region Grant funded training.  There is no registration cost to approved Colorado Peace Officers in the state.

The students begin with an introduction to HTMBPR. After a comprehensive understanding of human physiology and psychology as it relates to HTMBPR, the students learn about such concepts as; advanced critical thinking, the decision-making algorithm, biases, and the six layers of human behavior.

Contained within the curriculum are group exercises, quiz backs, photo & video practical application, live scenario-based training, and a written test. This course comes with a online pre-course introduction module, in-person instruction, a student book, and upon successful completion of the course a graduation certificate.

***Effective October 1, 2021 students must notify the sponsoring training region/provider at least 14 days prior to the training if they are not able to attend the training. If sufficient notification is not provided, your agency may be restricted from receiving future regional POST grant funding (class, scholarship, and training equipment) for a period of up to six (6) months. Any penalties issued will be at the sole discretion of the I-70 West Training Region Board.”
